The People
Older People

The life and spirituality of older people is valued in our parish and we cherish the faithfulness of many who are maybe now too frail to come to church regularly.

Midweek Communion
St Stephen’s 10am Wednesday
This morning communion welcomes a number of older people who find the busy-ness of Sunday mornings too much and prefer the sedate pace of the spoken service. Sitting in the choir stalls often helps with audibility too. Lifts can be arranged for those with transport difficulties, who may wish to attend this service.

Briar Close House Residential Home
1st Wednesday every month, 7pm
(Moravian service 3rd Wed each month)
We hold a service in the main lounge of the home and encourage residents to attend to enjoy the hymn singing, bible readings, discussion and prayers. For many these services are the only opportunity to meet with other Christians to worship and pray. We are building good relationships among the residents and staff and very much enjoy the time we spend there.

Pastoral visiting
We have a team of Christian visitors who are happy to come and see you at home if you are isolated and unable to get out and about. They will come for a chat and maybe a cup of tea, always finding time to sit and pray with you before they leave.

Home Communion
If you are ill, or confined to your home and would like to receive Home Communion, please contact one of the clergy.
